Allegories Of The Way
Allegories of the Way is a comic series created by Melchizedek Todd, about angels, demons, and the battle between them for the souls of men and women. In some ways it's an attempt to imaginatively visualise what happens in the struggle for someone to know God and give themselves up to his love.
The first volume (142 pages) is an excellent read! The different characters and situations it presents certainly give food for thought, and I personally found myself interested to know more about the individuals. The style of the comic is refreshingly different, and coloured in shades of grey.
As ever when reading stories based on angels, demons, or elements of what people call 'spiritual warfare', it's important to remember that what we have is the author's interpretation. The Bible, although it talks about our struggle being against 'spiritual forces and powers of this dark world', does not go into a lot of detail. Having said that, the comics are still a good read, and raise interesting issues for consideration. They also major on the fact that God is good and wants to communicate and demonstrate his love to us. So they seem pretty well-balanced.
So if you're up for some seeing some very cool angels knocking about their evil counterparts, in a manner reminiscent of some of Frank Peretti's novels, check out 'Allegories Of The Way' over at www.weaponpress.com.
