There Is One
There is one who was hurt,
There is one who was laughed at,
There is one who was nailed to a tree.
There is one who was crucified
And killed on a cross whose name is
Jesus, and thus he suffered for me.
He gave up his life
So that I might be free
From the chains and the burden of sin,
So I could enter his kingdom
And receive his love,
And be on the side which will win.
I will bless the Lord
And praise his name
For now and evermore;
For he has paid the price,
And given me new life
And a new world to explore.
